Man City will be hoping to continue their marvellous recent form in the Premier League by claiming all three points away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Depending on how Arsenal fair on Sunday, City could potentially move top of the table if the Gunners are defeated by Spurs and Pep Guardiola’s side emerge victorious.
Current Form
Nottingham Forest’s current form
Forest have won just two Premier League games in 2024 and it is that kind of form that sees them facing the threat of relegation. Things went from bad to worse last month when they were docked four points for breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules, though they have appealed that decision.
In their last five matches, they have won one, lost two and drawn two.
Last time out, they were defeated 2-0 by Everton away at Goodison Park.
Man City’s current form
Man Utd were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid recently but apart from that they have been in great form in the Premier League, while they also progressed to the semi-final of the FA Cup.
City have won 13 out of their last 16 Premier League games and those other three matches were draws against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
They have scored at least four goals in each of their last four games, beating Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Luton and Brighton.
Nottingham Forest vs Man City Team News
Taiwo Awoniyi is close to a return from a thigh injury, but if he does feature it will likely be from the bench. Willy Boly is injured, but Forest were boosted by the return of Moussa Niakhate in their last game after two months out.
Anthony Elanga could be recalled to the starting XI.
Guardiola’s only injury concern is Erling Haaland, who has missed the last two games due to a muscle issue. There’s no real point in risking him in a game City are expected to win, so the Norwegian might return for the next game.
